PTSA Hospitality Chair

Jillian Jensen is a Meadowlark mom to two sweet students – a daughter in 2nd and a son in Kindergarten. They also have a curious pup, Otto, who keeps her on her toes.

Having tons of event planning experience, and wanting to help the school, Jillian first helped out as a volunteer on our Gala planning committee (she was clearly a natural!) and next thing we knew, she became our Hospitality Chair! This is her second year on the PTSA Board and she is responsible for orchestrating the First Day of Kinder and Preschool events, and even created & designed the New Family Packet that has been circulating around (among many other graphics we use). Her Canva skills are on-point!

Some fun facts about Jillian:

  1. She tries really hard to keep her 16 houseplants alive
  2. She enjoys playing pickleball on the weekends
  3. She has planned over 215 weddings
  4. She knows 800 French words, and is still learning

Another fun thing to know about Jillian, is that she is (what she calls) “a serial entrepreneur” as she’s been a small business owner for over a decade. When it isn’t wedding season, she’s usually creating and selling minimalistic art through Etsy. The Plinko game at the Spring 2023 Gala – that was her creation. (Psst. Our PTSA nametags are too!)

She loves watching the hot air balloons from her backyard, talking dinking strategies, and recently passed the WSET Level 2 exam. If none of that tickles your fancy, she’s always ready to chat about your favorite historical fiction novel.

Friends describe her as:

  1. Kind
  2. Organized
  3. Independent
  4. An eternal optimist

When asked why she joined the PTSA as a board member, she replied:

“I originally joined as a volunteer to help plan the annual Gala and stayed because of the people and joy of meeting other Meadowlark families!”

Her favorite thing about Meadowlark?

“The flexible style of the learning community model and the staff!”
