Join the 2023 Meadowlark Community One Read!
The purpose of a One Read is to build community through the shared reading of one (or, in this case two!) book(s). This event is hosted by the Meadowlark PTSA, who will distribute books to interested families via their children(s) huddle teacher.
Books are meant to be read over summer break 2023. Members of the DEI committee will host a community discussion when school reconvenes in the fall. We have 25 complimentary copies of each book available to families on a first come, first served basis. Families with multiple students in different grade groups may request one copy of each book.
Book choices include:
- Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story by Kevin Maillard, Illustrated by Juana Martinez Neal (recommended for grades PK-2nd)
- The Birchbark House by Louise Erdrich (recommended for grades 3rd-8th)
