PTSA DEI Committee Chair

Carole Bakhos has two wonderful kiddos – a daughter who is in 5th grade at Meadowlark, and a son who will be a Kindergartener at Meadowlark next year!

Carole has passionately been serving as Co-Chair of the PTSA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for the past two years and joins us this year as its Chair. Her dedication and commitment to making sure all of our students and staff feel heard, seen, and appreciated for their individual uniqueness is paramount – this gal goes all in!

Some fun facts about Carole:

  1. She speaks 4 languages
  2. She loves witnessing acts of kindness
  3. She plays the classical guitar
  4. She grew up in Beirut, Lebanon

In addition to Carole’s experience working with multiple non-profits and advocacy groups, she’s also a girl scout troop leader! If she’s not binge-listening to audiobooks or outside enjoying nature, she’s most likely helping parents who are raising children with disabilities and advocating for these children by helping to make towns, programs, facilities, and activities accessible for everyone.

Carole serves on several boards and is also the executive director for Jordan’s Guardian Angels, a non-profit she helped build from the ground up focused on leading awareness and research of the rare disease, Jordan’s Syndrome – which affects just 300 children worldwide, including her own incredible daughter.

Friends describe her as:

  1. Creative
  2. Resourceful
  3. Problem solver
  4. Kind

When asked why she joined the PTSA as a board member, she replied:

“I have a passion for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion and how it manifests in every community, group and institution. Being the DEI chair is a way to insure all students feel seen and have a strong voice.”

Her favorite thing about Meadowlark?

“The community at Meadowlark is embracing and supportive of every student’s needs.”
