Monthly Newsletter

Hello Maverick Families!!

Let’s give a big Mav THANK YOU to Jeanette Porter, who worked her miracles to put on the Back to School BBQ without a hitch! We hope you were able to stop by, see the Learning Communities and the rest of the school, meet the teachers and principals, and get a bite to eat!

Stay in the know – Subscribe to our website

This is our first PTSA newsletter to be delivered via our new website (hint, hint – if you haven’t done so already, please FOLLOW this site using the Follow button at the right, so you can stay abreast of all PTSA happenings!). We have a short list of things to cover to help get you registered as a Meadowlark PTSA member and to help us continue with a smooth year.

Membership

We are really excited to kick off our second year at Meadowlark and we’re hoping to maintain (AND GROW) our PTSA membership numbers! Parents, caregivers, grandparents, teachers, staff, and students can all be members of our PTSA. If you would like to become a member, or renew your membership, please do so on our membership page!

PTSA memberships are only good for one year (and they expire on June 30th of each year) – so if you were a PTSA member last year and want to be a member again this year, please be sure to fill out the membership form and pay your annual dues!

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are critical in supporting Meadowlark and its Learning Communities. There are a variety of roles available to Meadowlark volunteers, including leading a committee to provide gifts to teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week, working a booth at the Meadowlark Mingle, working with students in learning communities or in the Curiosity Center…to name a few. You do not need to be a PTSA member to volunteer at Meadowlark!

Whether you can commit to a half hour a month in a classroom or more time coordinating planning a special event; or whether you can support the school during non-working hours by making arts and crafts for classroom use or by collecting Longmont Dairy caps and turning them in for money … your volunteering helps our students every day in many ways!

If you are interested in learning more about the volunteer opportunities available at Meadowlark and if you are interested in getting your background check through BVSD (required if you plan to volunteer at the school and engage with students) please check out our Volunteer page.

First General Meeting of the year

We will hold our first General Meeting of the year on September 20th from 6:30 pm until 8 pm in the Heart. While you do not have to be a member to attend our General Meetings, you do have to be a member to vote during these meetings. We hope you can make it, as we want to meet you and talk with you and we’re excited to share what our PTSA did last year and how we plan to contribute to the school this year. We hope to see you there!

PTSA President search

We have a vacancy in our President’s position. If you would like to lead our awesome group, please email our Vice President, Cricket Holshey, at vicepresident@mavsptsa.org.
