BVSD’s visitor and volunteer FAQs may help answer any questions you have!

Meadowlark requests that all parents/guardians/volunteers complete a CBI background check in order to volunteer in our building or participate in field trips.

While the Raptor background check is technically an option, given the layout and opportunities offered at Meadowlark, we have determined that the CBI background check is the best option for Meadowlark. It will also make it easier for us to track and erase any confusion for families. It is more cost effective to complete a CBI check because it covers your volunteering across BVSD campuses (EX high school) for 5 years.

CBI Fingerprinting

Recommended/Required

*For ALL Meadowlark volunteers!

Important Note: Once fingerprinting is completed it can take 2-3 weeks for BVSD to receive the results. We recommend completing the process during the summer, if possible!

  1. Alert the district that you are applying to volunteer using this form.
  2. Complete CBI Background Check through www.coloradofingerprinting.com
    • Tip: This location generally has most flexible hours/days when scheduling
      • Express It Mail Center (near Longmont Costco) 205 Ken Pratt Blvd Ste. 120, Longmont, CO 80501
    • CBI Unique Code: 5085ETNI
    • Reason Fingerprinted: Education – Non-Licensed
  3. Submit completed BVSD volunteer agreement to Meadowlark Main Office, drop off or email. Spanish Form
    1. Meadowlark will submit the volunteer agreement to the district.
    2. This form is completed annually by all volunteers.
  4. Forward CBI Confirmation email to Meadowlark.Volunteer@bvsd.org once it is received.

** Notes about CBI background check:

  • Cost = $65.00 at time of posting (breaks down to $13 per year). Better value than Raptor ($32 per year).
  • Valid for 5 years as long you do not have gaps in volunteering 
  • Some examples CBI fingerprinting is required:
    • ALL field trips (including overnight stays)
    • Reading/math groups when you are not in the classroom with a teacher
    • All club and athletic volunteers or non staff coaches
      • Please check with office if you are unsure
