We are pleased to announce our THIRD Family Academy night at Meadowlark School for the 2018-19 school year! A school with an innovative instructional program requires time to teach students how it works and additional time to teach adults how instruction works. We are proud of the progress our students are making and how they continue to thrive within a project-based learning environment. We invite you to attend this year’s third in a series of family education evenings called the Meadowlark Family Academy designed to help families better understand our instructional program.
Please join us from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, for an interactive evening on the topic of: Mathematics at Meadowlark – The Basic Tenets of Learning pre-K through 8th grade.
The theme for the night is “Mathematics learning can be enhanced by creating opportunities for students to persevere through productive struggle, make and learn from mistakes, and develop flexible, personally meaningful strategies for solving problems.”
- In the first half of the evening, participants will do some mathematics and experience our theme.
- The second half of the evening will be grade level breakout sessions where participants can continue to focus on the evening’s theme with teachers at a specific grade level.
Childcare will not be provided during this Academy session. We are asking our middle level students to be involved in the learning. Your RSVP is necessary to help us plan and prepare for the event.
