Huge THANKS to everyone who was able to join us in-person for our first General Meeting of the school year!
It was great having the Student Council join us for the first time, putting the “S” back into our PTSA (Parent Teacher, Student Association)! They did a fantastic job presenting and sharing with us all the initiatives they have been working on at the school to promote our spirit values and enhance every student’s experience at Meadowlark!
The PTSA shared what we’ve been working on, as well as what’s upcoming, and Mr. Caldwell discussed Meadowlark’s achievements and how they are helping all students be successful learners! He also reviewed testing data and outlined how the school is spending the $50,000 they received from the PTSA, following your generous support at the Gala this Spring!
Our special guest speaker, Natalie Worobel, MA, LPC was a welcome addition and led a very helpful talk about Parenting in a Digital Age, delving into recommendations for tech use based on age, including risk factors and warning signs of overuse and addiction, and coaching parents on how to set healthy boundaries and protections, help our children fulfill needs met by technology through alternative means, how to model healthy coping strategies, and more!
We ran into unexpected restrictions with BVSD’s firewall so we were unable to live-stream this meeting as planned, but the school did attempt to record it. We’re still processing the video footage and hope to have something we can share soon. In the meantime, you can view the slide deck from the meeting below.
We hope to see you at our next General Meeting! Go Mavericks!
